Bar turning

The heart of our business: bar-fed turned parts in large series.

On Swiss-type lathes, the bar advances through a guide bush, right next to the tool. Long, slender parts stay precise over their full length, and several operations are done in one clamping. Cam-type automatics and multi-spindles produce very large series of simple parts.

Machines
  • 16 Swiss-type lathes · Star, Citizen, Tsugami
  • 14 Cam-type automatic lathes · Manurhin
  • 2 Multi-spindle lathes · Wickman
Capacity
Bars from Ø 3 to 32 mm
For
Long, slender or complex turned parts

CNC turning

For diameters up to 42 mm and chuck work.

Our CNC lathes machine bar stock up to Ø 42 mm and re-clamp parts in the chuck. They complement bar turning for larger-diameter parts.

Machines
  • 4 CNC lathes · Biglia, Nakamura, Weiler
Capacity
Bars up to Ø 42 mm, chuck work
For
Larger-diameter parts, second operations in the chuck

Fig. 3 · Milling

Milling

11 machining centres, 10 of them with pallet changers, and 2 wire EDM machines.

Milling and drilling of series parts. On the pallet-changer centres, one pallet is loaded while the other is being machined: the spindle runs almost without stopping. Wire EDM cuts contours and shapes that are difficult to mill.

Machines
  • 11 Machining centres · Chiron, Mori Seiki, Hardinge, Kitamura, Tongtai, Victor
  • 2 Wire EDM
Capacity
11 machining centres, 10 with pallet changers
For
Milled and drilled parts, cut contours

Fig. 4 · Grinding

Grinding

For precise bearing surfaces and fine finishes.

Centreless grinding handles cylindrical parts in series without clamping them between centres. Cylindrical and surface grinding finish bearing surfaces and functional faces.

Machines
  • 6 Grinders · Cincinnati, Nomoco
Capacity
Centreless, cylindrical and surface
Surface finish
Down to Ra 0.4 µm
For
Bearing surfaces, precision diameters, flat faces
